Our 7-acre man-made lake will will serve multiple educational and functional purposes. Several areas are built or under development.
Shoreline
A one-half mile paved walking path has been built around the lake, allowing visitors to learn about conservation of natural resources while exercising. The perimeter of the lake will be planted with a wide buffer of native plants to provide a beautiful, naturalized setting and to discourage nesting geese. The plants will also improve the water clarity and oxygen levels. A riparian buffer will be planted on the south side of the Lake to improve water quality and filter agricultural runoff.

Nearby, a bridge leading to an island will enable visitors to enjoy a special vantage point on the lake to rest and contemplate the beauty of Jefferson Farm & Gardens.
Thank you to Chelsea Myers for this artist rendering of the island, pictured to the left.
